Venus Transit Time
Monday, 05 March 2012 16:28

On June 5, 2012, you will see the planet Venus as it moves across the face of the sun. This astronomical oddity has played a very important role over the last few centuries in giving scientists a way to understand the size of the solar system. The event starts on June 5 2012 at 18:09:00 EST and this will be the last time it will occur before 2117!

The Birmingham Astronomical Society will be holding a Open Viewing next to the TipTop Hotdog stand on Shades Crest Road starting at 4:00PM. This will be open to the public as an outreach.
We request that if you come please park across the street in the hardware store/diner parking area as the is not a lot of room where we will be set up.
If you have any questions please email us via Email.
